Should I hire a professional to install my TV?
Depending on the difficulty of your TV installation project, hiring a professional TV installer can help you avoid costly mistakes. A professional TV installer installs TVs nearly every day, and therefore has seen many different scenarios. If there are no studs, the studs are too far apart, or studs are too close together, you may need to take extra precautions to ensure the sturdiness of the TV. Do you want to hide cords? If so, you’ll need to be comfortable cutting holes in your drywall and feeding wires through the back of the drywall as well as routing the necessary cables and terminations. Hiring a professional for TV installation services ensures the project will be completed correctly no matter what curveballs may come your way.
Why mount a TV on the wall?
In addition to the aesthetic appeal, wall mounting a TV saves space, reduces glare from lights and windows, and increases safety by eliminating tip-over risk.
How high should I mount my TV?
For a seated viewer, the ideal center television height is 42 inches. For example, a 60” TV should be installed with the bottom of the screen 26 inches above the floor.
How much does it cost for TV installation on a wall?
Every TV installation is different. Prices typically start at $150. The challenges of the project will dictate the price – Are the studs too far apart? Does it require special wiring? Is it installed over a fireplace? This varies depending on how we have to fish the wiring and the type of mount needed
How long does it take to mount a TV?
A professional TV mounting installation takes about one and a half hours. A more complex installation, like on brick, can take two to three hours.
Will a WiFi booster get WiFi to my detached garage?
Accessing high speed internet from a far away room or detached structure can be a challenge. Installing a WiFi range extender should allow you to access WiFi in your detached garage. We also have outdoor Range extenders
How do you mount a TV on drywall?
A TV should never be mounted directly on drywall. In order to properly install a TV, you will need to mount the TV bracket on studs.
What happens if you don’t mount a TV on a stud?
Drywall cannot support the weight of a flat screen television, even if you use an anchor, it’s only a matter of time before the TV will fall from the wall.
How much weight can a stud hold?
A thin nail in a stud can typically hold about 20 pounds. Several coarse threaded wood screws in studs can typically hold up to 100 pounds.
How heavy of a TV can you mount?
If you are mounting on a single stud, it is suggested no more than 80lbs (typically a 60” TV). It is best practice to mount on two studs.
Where do I put the cable box for a TV mounted above a fireplace?
Depending on your cable provider wireless may be an option. In addition, you may be able to place the cable box components in a closet or other space near the fireplace. The other option is to mount your cable box to the back of the TV and use an infrared blaster to control the box.
How do I hide the wires to my wall mounted TV?
In order to hide the wires of your mounted TV, you will need to cut through the drywall and feed the wires down through another cut hole in the drywall closer to the floor and electrical outlet.
